Tapestry Trail

Tapestry Trail

The Tapestry Trail

7 Days. 283 Miles.

Discover the tales within the Tapestry

In partnership with the South of Scotland Destination Alliance we are delighted to launch the Tapestry Trail.

At The Great Tapestry of Scotland, we tell history of Scotland through 160 linen embroidered panels. Now you can journey through time and the landscape of Southern Scotland and bring those panels to life as you trace the threads of history on the Tapestry Trail. Each of the stops relates back to part of Scotland’s history as told in the panels of the Great Tapestry of Scotland.

Start at the Tapestry Centre in Galashiels to acquire an overview of how the areas you will visit fit into the overall picture of Scotland’s past before you see the panels come to life as you travel across the South of Scotland. This driving trail is split over 7 days covering 283 miles of the South of Scotland. Why not use the inspection of the Tapestry to explore the South of Scotland and discover the inspiration behind your favorite panel!
