Yarn Worth Spinning Exhibition Opens July 6th

  • June 2, 2022
  • 9:06 am

As part of VisitScotlands Year of Stories 2022 and in collaboration with Heriot Watt University, School of Textile and Design we are excited to begin summer with a free exhibition in our Discovery Centre which explores Galashiels’ Textile Heritage. This exhibition uses film, garments, materials and drawings to explore how textiles have shaped the town, continue to inspire, and, are key to innovating sustainable futures. We have also asked Galashiels’ school pupils to explore their town through fashion and the winners of this competition will be on display, with many other of the inspiring entrants featuring in our exhibition film.

Join us from 6th July – 17th July for a storytelling experience the tells Galashiels’s textile heritage and sustainable future through film, fabrics and design. Learn, explore and imagine Galashiels in a new way! Fun for everyone.
