The Magic Fingals by Rose Mann

The Magic Fingals by Rose Mann

The Magic Fingals

One day, before my birthday on the sixth of May, my family gifted me a gift to visit The Great Tapestry of Scotland. The next morning, I woke up, had breakfast (butter on toast and apple juice),then went out the door.

When we got there my mum and dad sat downstairs and I went up. I found myself admiring panel number 83 (Fingal’s cave.) Suddenly I heard a croaky voice laughing, I looked around and saw no one. Then it got quiet a little too quiet…I went to blink and then I woke up in another land!

I saw giants. There were two! I went up to them and said, “Hi if you don’t mind me asking, what are your names?”

They said “Oh hi there, you’re so small I didn’t see you there but anyways my name is Finn Mac Cumbhaill.”

“Hi I’m Benandonner and this is the island of Stafa”

“Oh of I know that’s good it’s still in Scotland.” Benandonner said

“Ok we can get a boat and get lunch”.

After we talked for a while they took me to a quiet peaceful place near a river. We ate for a bit. We had beans on toast and some shortbread.

After I went on a boat home. My mum and dad hugged me and said, “where have you been?”

I said, “I met two nice giants.” I told them everything!

They let me go back many more times and they did lots of fun things like chalk, bake, paint and play games and I always love the giants.
