For those who wish to play a leading role in sustaining the tapestry, the Tapestry Heroes programme offers the opportunity to become one of our principal supporters who help secure the future of the tapestry. Through their generosity, Heroes play an important role in sustaining the work of the Great Tapestry of Scotland, helping us care for the panels, develop exhibitions and learning programmes, and welcome visitors from across Scotland and around the world.

Tapestry Heroes help safeguard the panels, support exhibitions and learning programmes, and ensure that this extraordinary artwork can continue to inspire visitors for generations to come.

Tapestry Hero Membership

£1,000 per year

Tapestry Hero membership includes a range of opportunities to engage with the tapestry and support its future.  Benefits include:

  • Unlimited admission to the Great Tapestry of Scotland Centre for 12 months
  • Priority booking for talks, lectures and special events
  • Invitations to special previews and gatherings
  • Occasional offers in the Stitchers Café
  • A Guardian welcome pack and regular updates about the tapestry
  • An invitation to the annual Donor Thank You event celebrating supporters of Live Borders museums, libraries, archives, attractions and facilities
  • An exclusive Tapestry Hero pin badge
  • A high-quality print of a panel from the Great Tapestry of Scotland

Supporting the Tapestry

In order to comply with Gift Aid guidance from HM Revenue & Customs, Tapestry Hero membership is structured as follows:

£150 – annual membership subscription covering the benefits listed above
£850 – charitable donation supporting the work of the Great Tapestry of Scotland

If you are a UK taxpayer, the £850 donation can be Gift Aided, allowing us to claim an additional 25% from HMRC at no extra cost to you.

Become A Tapestry Guardian

Tapestry Guardians are our closest regular supporters who help care for the tapestry and sustain the work of the centre throughout the year. Guardians help ensure that visitors from across Scotland and around the world can experience this remarkable national artwork.

Through an annual subscription, Guardians help sustain the work of the Great Tapestry of Scotland, supporting the care of the panels, the welcome we offer to visitors, and the learning and community programmes that bring Scotland’s history to life.  Guardian membership is a simple and meaningful way to support the tapestry while enjoying year-round access to the gallery.

Guardian membership includes:

  • Unlimited admission to the Great Tapestry of Scotland Centre for 12 months
  • Priority booking for talks, lectures and special events

  • A Guardian welcome pack and regular updates about the tapestry

 

Many Guardians also choose to make an additional voluntary donation to support our charitable work caring for the tapestry and developing exhibitions, education programmes and community activities.
