300 Words: The Finalists

300 Words: The Finalists

Sumi and Tom

By Arlo Jeffrey

It was Monday and Tom had just woken up in his little attic room. It’s Monday again he thought but then he realized there was a giant creature with the antlers of a deer, the mane of a lion and the body and head of a rabbit standing in front of him AHHH! he screamed. A few hours later he had warmed up to this glorious creature. I’ll name you Sumi he said as Sumi snuggled into him. I have to go to school so I’ll see you soon. Sumi squeaked goodbye but she was also trying to show him something outside the window. Then Tom saw that there was a giant portal about five miles away from his house. Is that where you came from? Sumi nodded. After school I’ll try get you back .

After school

When he got home he ran straight up the stairs. Hi Sumi he panted, ready for the mission? Sumi nodded. We’ll sneak out at midnight to get to the portal. It might take a while if we walk ,will you let me ride you? Sumi got excited and ran round the room.

Half past eleven that night

Sumi, Sumi are you awake? Sumi squeaked. Let’s get ready to go.

Half an hour later

They were in the garden and Sumi signalled for him to get on her back. After a while of walking they reached a 400 metre wide river. Oh Tom said, we’ll have to jump. Sumi squeaked at the thought. You can do it, I believe in you Sumi…..

AND SHE JUMPED!!!

YES!!!

They said goodbye and Sumi went through the portal.

Two weeks later at the Olympics

I have one last gold medal for Tom, for the first 400 meter jump on an animal.
