These are the perfect resource to use at home or in the classroom and expand your STEM knowledge!
50,000 stitching hours, 300 miles of wool, 1000 stitchers and 160 panels. The Great Tapestry of Scotland is full of maths!
STEM Through The Tapestry
We are excited to share a free downloadable teaching resource designed to help second level teachers integrate the Great Tapestry of Scotland into their STEM lessons.
This resource, developed in partnership with RAiSE, builds on our successful CLPL session and is now available for wider classroom use. It includes creative, curriculum-linked activities that combine science, technology, engineering, maths, and social studies, all inspired by the rich storytelling and artistry of the Tapestry.
We’d love for you to explore this free resource with your learners and see how the Great Tapestry of Scotland can enrich your STEM teaching.

We have been delighted to work with Eddie Mullan, formally the Principal Teacher of Maths at Galashiels Academy, Chair of the Scottish Maths Council and editor of the Maths in Action book series for to develop these free downloadable maths activities – all inspired by the Great Tapestry of Scotland!
