Iconic Scots

Iconic Scots

People are such a big part of Scotland’s story. It is the people of Scotland, their achievements and their warmth that puts our country on the map. Indeed, the Great Tapestry of Scotland is an artwork born from the love of Scottish places, people and stories.

The Great Tapestry of Scotland is truly born from the love of the places, people and stories that feature within it. This great love was also at the heart of our opening exhibition in 2021 “Iconic Scotland”, which told people’s story of Scotland through a series of uplifting reflections from over 40 inspiring individuals.

This exhibition continues the great storytelling that Scotland is renowned for the world over and showcases some of the country’s greatest achievements through the words and images of pioneers, trailblazers, global icons, musicians, songwriters, artists, authors, food champions, scientists, actors, sportspeople, human rights defenders, national heroes and more.

People are such a big part of Scotland’s story, and it is the people of Scotland, their achievements and their warmth of welcome that really put our much-loved country on the map.

This exhibition has now been digitised, for you to enjoy wherever you are!
