"My class were really inspired by their visit to the Great Tapestry of Scotland as part of the 300 words writing competition. They were able to link their learning at the Tapestry to classroom activities including literacy, social subjects and STEM. It created a great buzz for them to return to school and compose their own short stories based on their experience and discoveries. I too felt inspired to write a 300- word story of my own!"
Alasdair Houston, P5/6 Teacher, Balmoral Primary School
"The workshop was carefully crafted and adapted to meet our learners’ needs. The pupils were instantly engaged and enjoyed choosing their picture stimulus. To see them absorbed in their work in such beautiful surroundings was a special moment."
Jenny Morrison, Teacher of Complex Needs, Enhanced Provision, Galashiels Academy.
"It was inspirational seeing the passion that the Scottish people have for their country weaved into the fabric. The creative process, the research and depiction of history – it was amazing!"
Layla, Student from Wisconsin University, USA.
"Thanks so much for the warm welcome and care you gave to our group. It helped to make the experience that much more meaningful. We were fascinated by your workshop, learning about Scottish history and culture through the artistry of the Great Tapestry of Scotland."
Grace Leinbach Coggio, PhD Professor, Communication & Media Studies Leader. University of Wisconsin.
"I loved looking at how each panel was sewn. It was interesting to me because I am creative and interested in the process."
Nela, P5
