Battle Of Stirling Bridge by Charlie Hartley

Battle Of Stirling Bridge by Charlie Hartley

Battle of Stirling Bridge

My heart pounding, I noticed sirens echoing across the streets and small and weak villages. It was not a call, it was an alert. I instinctively pulled out my sharp sword, William Wallace and the amazing Andrew Moray was calling for a battle.

I rushed to the River Forth, everyone gathering…English soldiers promptly moved, forming a massive line of thousands of men. The English looked grim and stern, grinning in a mocking manner. I clutched my sword, eyes raising to Moray and Wallace.

“You should probably pay attention, eh?” A fellow soldier muttered to me.

I nodded nervously, then murmuring, “The suns up…”

In a matter of time, English soldiers came running over very cockily and quickly. I noticed them coming, we ran ashore! I attacked with boldness, most soldiers notably falling down. For a moment, we thought we were done, but more soldiers came out of a tunnel, sent by Edward I! I shot an arrow hesitantly, gripping it with tight confidence but a loud nervousness. “My aim! It was almost correct…another go!” I murmured, soldiers collapsing by my shot.

At last, we finally defeated them. Unfortunately, Morray and Wallace didn’t last so long. I picked up a grubby bandage, strapping it up. With a small needle, (that wasn’t properly checked or secure) I tried shooting it but it wasn’t an advanced or effective tool in my year. Slowly, they woke up, pale but awake.

We celebrated quietly, as more advanced and high-ranking soldiers picked them up…” Thank you, that saved a bit of my health,” Moray said, he placed a cold hand on my shoulder before being lifted away. I smiled cheekily, with confidence and a bit of cockiness. “I saved both leaders from dying! -well, almost.” I said chuckling.

No more English soldiers were standing, and we successfully won the battle!
