The Great Tapestry of Scotland is one of the nation’s most ambitious pieces of modern day documentary heritage – a vast and vivid visual history, hand-stitched by over 1,000 people, and telling Scotland’s story from the Ice Age to the present day.
Among its 160 panels are countless stories of people, places, and organisations that have shaped the fabric of our national identity. To recognise and celebrate their place in this unique artwork, we have introduced a special mark of distinction:
“As Seen in The Great Tapestry of Scotland.”
A Living Story
The “As Seen in” initiative reflects the Tapestry’s enduring mission: to keep Scotland’s story alive through celebration, participation, and pride. As we creates visible links between the Tapestry and the real-world stories it honours we encourage you to find out more about the stories in the tapestry and discover the story of Scotland in a living, accessible way.
As Seen In The Great Tapestry of Scotland:
Support the legacy. Celebrate the culture. Be proud.
If you’d like to take part or have any questions, we’d love to hear from you.
