On Sunday 16th June the finalists of the 300 Words Story Writing Competition gathered at the Borders Book Festival for an exciting event to discover who the first winners of the Great Tapestry of Scotland’s 300 Words Story Writing Competition were!
Everyone at the Great Tapestry of Scotland, and Sir Alexander McCall Smith himself, were overwhelmed with the outstanding quality of all the stories received and it was an incredibly difficult job to select just one winner from each category.
We would like to congratulate all the children that entered the competition. They should all be incredibly proud of their amazing writing and achievements.
After much deliberation, Sir Alexander selected the following as the winning stories for the inaugural 300 Words Story Writing Competition.
